KOKOURA: Anitié
Burkina Faso meets Senegal in Europe and Brazil! This band is influenced by blues, samba, reggae and traditional African music and blends all these flavors into a delicate and warm sound. The wonderful Brazilian singer Ceumar and the brothers Moussa and Adama Dembélé from Burkina Faso add their voices to this unique sounding group from 3 continents.

Adama Dembélé: vocal, n’goni, djembé, calabasse
Ceumar: lead & backing vocals, bichito cordobês
Ben Mendes: sopranino, alto, tenor & baritone sax
Patrick Kuschel: bass guitar
Mark Tuinstra: guitars

This album has been recorded, mixed and produced by Ben Mendes at the Phunky Pheasant Basement and in the studio Djembe Drame in Amsterdam. All tracks have been recorded ‘live’ in two days in the Djembé Dramé Studio and in the Casa Rosa, Sao Paulo (Brazil). Mastering by Marc Broer.
